This isn't particularly recent news- it was sold a few years ago when my parents moved to Commack (I guess they were tired of living across the street from the big pink wall in the 'hood).
The car never really had a proper send-off. My dad just sold it to the first person he trusted to not pimp it out and keep in its original form. And they got a bargain price... it all happened so fast, and I'm only now coming to grips with the reality that we will never see it again.
In the car's honor, please pay your respects by imparting your memories and stories with the rest of us...
Folks can also send stories and/or photos to jcfrank79@gmail.com. I will post them to this site...

I'm pretty sure I'm sending the right pic. Its from senior cut day. Didn't we get lost on the way to the beach?
I believe this was the only vehicle in history which hosted the following two events:
ReplyDelete(1) an open-air brass concert while driving on a major thoroughfare (I cannot recall if it was 2 or 3 of us playing our instruments as you drove down Jericho Tpke)
(2) a very unique game wherein the driver throws a tennis ball 3o or 40 ft in the air in front of the car and then guns the car forward and catches the tennis ball after the bounce.
I believe it was a baritone, two trumpets, and a car horn.
